The name Tianyi Tang draws on the Tianyi Star recorded in the History of Song. For us, it serves as a reminder to keep looking, learning, and understanding the ancient world.
Its mark brings together an ancient form of the character for heaven and motifs from early bronzes, reflecting the connections among objects, writing, and images in early China.
We attend not only to the object itself, but also to its making, use, transmission, research, and rediscovery.
